CIRQ, an International Standards Organization (ISO) audit and certification body that is a subsidiary of the Insights Association, has awarded certification to Copley Focus Centers and National Field and Focus, qualitative marketing research operations located in Boston, MA, and Framingham, MA, respectively, for compliance to the ISO 20252 – Market, Opinion and Social Research Standard.
ISO 20252* establishes globally recognized terms, definitions, and service requirements for project management in research organizations. Processes outlined in ISO 20252 are designed to produce transparent, consistent, well-documented and error-free methods of conducting and managing research projects.
The scope of certification of Copley Focus Centers and National Field and Focus covers in-house research services including project and account management, data collection, and limited data processing. The certification covers both the Boston and Framingham locations.
Copley Focus Centers and National Field and Focus perform work for a variety of industries, including consumer packaged goods, automotive, government public sector, financial services, energy and utilities, information technology, telecommunications, mock jury, and travel and tourism.
“ISO certification gives our firm significant recognition for high quality procedures,” commented Frank Amelia, managing owner at the Boston office. “Correspondence with our clients can focus on their project needs and they are confident about the project’s success due to our ISO certification.”
In Framingham, Brenda Chartoff, president, noted that many existing clients appreciate the significance of ISO certification. “They have expressed their confidence in working with a company that continues to improve upon the quality of services being provided,” she said.
Implementation of this ISO standard improves an organization’s productivity and efficiency by creating clear lines of accountability, reducing errors and rework, shortening cycle times, and reducing costs. The internationally recognized standard also provides a basis for subcontractor evaluation and can enhance global competitiveness.
*Representatives from the Insights Association together with industry associations around the world are finalizing a rigorous update of ISO 20252, combining it with ISO 26362 and ISO 19731 (Digital Analytics and Web Analyses) into a more robust and comprehensive global standard. This newly revised and expanded ISO 20252 standard is expected to launch officially later this year.
