CIRQ, an International Standards Organization (ISO) audit and certification body that is a subsidiary of the Insights Association, has announced that Kantar, Health Division, has been recertified to the ISO 20252:2019 Standard—Market, opinion and social research, including insights and data analytics.
This marks the third CIRQ-certified company to have gained initial certification under the previous ISO 20252 framework and be recertified under the new standard. ISO 20252 was updated and streamlined in 2019 to be more relevant to current market research stakeholder needs and include new data practices, ethical requirements, and additional updated clauses on data management security that align with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). ISO 20252:2019 establishes globally recognized terms, definitions, and service requirements for project management in research organizations. Processes outlined in ISO 20252:2019 are designed to produce transparent, consistent, well-documented and error-free methods of conducting and managing research projects.
Headquartered in New York, the Kantar, Health Division, is part of the Kantar Group, one of the world’s largest insight, information, and consultancy networks. The Kantar, Health Division, provides full-service healthcare market research, both primary and secondary research, including both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
“The accreditation of a global ISO 20252:2019 certification is a great accomplishment. At its core, this is a third-party endorsement of the quality of our research. I am immensely proud of our team and what this means for the work we do on behalf of our clients. This is an achievement for us all,” said Lynnette Cooke, Global CEO, Health Division, Kantar. “In any industry, this is an important differentiator. In the health industry, it literally says lives can depend on our work. This certification, based on the new standards, has been awarded to a small number of organizations, placing Kantar’s Health Division in an exclusive group.”
The certification covers in the following countries/regions: U.S., UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Australia, India, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Singapore and Malaysia. Services covered are sampling, including access panels, fieldwork, physical observation, digital observation, self-completion, and data management and processing to be attested to in accordance with Annexes A, B, C, D, E, and F of ISO 20252:2019.
“Spanning several locations and months, this audit became a hybrid – it straddled pre-COVID in-person site visits and procedures and was completed under the all-remote framework we developed once pandemic restrictions were implemented,” explained Juliana Wood, Managing Director of CIRQ. “We appreciate the flexibility and determination of Kantar’s staff and our auditors to ensure this audit was thorough and complete despite the changing logistical challenges.”
